Dr. Sharma leads a research program focused on asthma and airway smooth muscle biology, integrating mechanistic discovery with innovative, human-relevant translational models to identify and validate new therapeutic targets.
Research focus
Airway smooth muscle signaling, GPCR and calcium pathways, E3 ubiquitin ligases, airway remodeling, and targeted protein degradation.
Translational approach
Primary human airway cells and tissues, precision-cut lung slices, organotypic systems, new approach methodologies, and complementary in vivo models.
